Description
The "Friends of Christ" Lenten Program has five sessions, based on the Gospels for Year A in Lent, beginning with the readings for the Second Sunday of Lent. In addition, Cardinal George Pell has provided a reflection for the First Week of Lent, which can be used in an introductory session.
For RE teachers and youth ministers: In each lesson, it is recommended that the teacher plays the audio track of the Gospel for that particular session, followed by the audio reflection. After listening to the Gospel and the Reflection, students can answer the relevant discussion questions that relate to each session.
Some classes may also be interested in using the Guided Meditations as a follow up the the Session, allowing students to take the themes of the lesson to prayer. It is recommended that students listen to the Guided Meditations in a chapel or a quiet place.
This podcast series is an abridged version of the annual Lenten Program brought out by the Catholic Adult Education Centre (CAEC) for the Archdiocese of Sydney, catered to suit the Years 10, 11 and 12 curriculums.
You can complete the full Lenten program through your local parish, or order the booklet online through the CAEC.
